This pedal marks the first stride towards transforming my pedal building pastime into a more sustainable activity. Initially made to satisfy my desire for a dual distortion, it emerged during a phase where my confidence in handling circuits beyond a basic complexity was still in its early stage. Employing point-to-point (PTP) techniques within the confines of a small enclosure, the pedal encountered its fair share of setbacks. It refused to work upon initial assembly, needing several attempts and days of diligent troubleshooting before it finally works. It always humbled me when I remember how a task seemingly straightforward (today) can be such a challenge in the past.
Made as a dual distortion pedal, each side employs an Electra style circuit with an added gain control. Due to spatial constraints and the intricate nature of PTP wiring, the inclusion of a tone control was deemed impractical. Its aesthetic reflects a minimalist approach, featuring a bare aluminum chassis with metal barrel-style knobs, devoid of embellishments or graphics. Despite its modest appearance, the outcome turned out not so bad. Sonically, while it didn't align precisely with my personal preferences, it held its own. This pedal found a new home in 2016, marking my first sale in the industry of pedal building, priced at MYR200.
